The Daily Draw: Nine of Cups

Nine of CupsSomebody put out a loaf of soft, fresh banana bread in the kitchen, which goes perfectly with the Nespresso to get my taste buds tingling.  It’s still there when I go back for a second cup, so I have a tiny bit more. It tastes so good, I really want it. At least I think I want it. Not sure this fits into any description of January dietary detox. Ah well, nevermind that.  I’m still easing into the year.

And so it goes with the Nine of Cups, indulging the senses with a bit of what you fancy, wherever that takes you. Maybe you’re surrounded by, and fully connected to, the natural elements, wrapped up warm in the winter sunshine. Maybe you’re on a lucky streak in a cyber-bingo room. Maybe you’re having a lazy day in bed. Maybe you’re not alone.

Let go and flow with the energy of the nine of cups. You can get what you want provided that you know what you want. A bit of self-indulgence can be good for the soul, especially in the potentially drab, grey depths of January when the holidays are well and truly gone except for the cleaning up and the payment due notices. Ugh. Forget I spoke.

Do something today that makes you feel good. You should be doing that every day really, but the fat cat in front of all those cups provides me with the opportunity to say so.  Maybe you’ll have more of an opportunity to do so today.

I finally deviated from the RWS deck. This depiction resonated more with me today, although it’s from an art show rather than a deck – Contemporary Magic: A Tarot Deck Art Project. This particular card is by French footwear designer Christian Louboutin, one of the contributors.
